CBSE exam dates not out, pupils worried

Guwahati: Students who are about to appear for their board examinations this year have been left disappointed as the CBSE is yet to announce the exam dates and schedule. The delay has left many students anxious as they keep checking the board website in eager anticipation but there is still no official update.

“Since December, we are eagerly waiting for the exam timetable in order to plan accordingly. Without the schedule, I have to continue to study all the subjects for now,” said Sabuj Saikia, a Class XII board student of Maharishi Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Silpukhuri.

Though the exam fever has already gripped the city now, some of the students are still taking some time out to relax and have dinners with the family at restaurants on the weekends.

“We are serious about our study as only a couple of months are left now. But too much of stress does not help either. I have been relaxing by listening to light music and keeping myself away from social media. I want to be by myself and spend time with my family now,” said Harsh, a Class X student who will appear for the board exams this year.

Some of the city schools have recommended simple, breathing exercises to fight stress and unwind if students feel exhausted after studying for long hours. K Chanda, principal of the South Point School, Guwahati,”As per the CBSE guidelines, we will have be busy with the practical exams from mid-January and they have to be completed by January 31. Preparations are on for the board exams considering that they will begin from the third week of February.”
